Field trips provide a wide variety of learning opportunities for children and expand the children’s experiences and their understanding of the world around them. We will regularly take children for neighbourhood walks or through local trails, visit local parks, which allow them valuable outdoor time.
For major field trips, parents will be notified ahead of time so that it gives parents time to plan to attend and volunteer if they chose to join.

Medication is administered upon completion of the Permission to Administer Medications form.
Prescription medication must be in the original container stating the child’s name, dosage, and time to be given. Non-prescription medications require a consent form signed by a doctor. -
On occasion, children who attend our centre manage life-threatening allergies. If your child is anaphylactic, you will be asked to complete an Anaphylaxis Form to describe your child’s allergies, and an Anaphylaxis Action Plan to describe procedures to be followed in the event of an incident.
If a child has allergies, all parents will be asked to refrain from sending that particular food. Please inform staff of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
-
We spend time outdoors every day. Please ensure your child has the appropriate clothing for the relevant season. (i.e. rain gear, winter coat, sun hat, sunscreen, etc.)
-
The safety of the children is our top priority; therefore, we expect parents/guardians to follow our procedures. Parents/Guardians must sign children in and ensure that a staff member is aware that you are dropping off your child. Parents/Guardians must sign children out upon pick up and ensure that a staff member is aware that you are taking your child home.

The Centre will supply a morning and afternoon snack for children. Lunches will need to be packed by the caregiver. To ensure your child receives a well-balanced diet, we follow Canada’s Food Guide. We encourage families to pack healthy foods and drinks.
Emergencies
In case of an emergency or natural disaster, we will attempt to contact families as soon as possible. If a child needs medical attention, we will attempt to notify parents/guardians prior to taking the child to the nearest hospital/clinic.
